Resume

Prof.Qian is Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and an expert in automatic control and process systems engineering. He is currently a professor, doctoral supervisor of East China University of Science and Technology. He also serves as the Director of the Key Laboratory of Advanced Control and Optimization Technology for Chemical Processes of the Ministry of Education, Director of the Engineering Research Center for Process Systems Engineering of the Ministry of Education, a member of the Control Science and Engineering Discipline Review Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, Vice Chairman of the China Petroleum and Chemical Automation Application Association, and Vice Chairman of the Instrumentation Association of China. He is a member of the 11th, 12th, and 13th National Committee of the CPPCC.

Qian’s current research interests mainly focus on intelligent control and system integration optimization methods and key technologies for efficient utilization of resources and energy in chemical process manufacturing. He has innovatively developed intelligent control and optimization operation technologies, software, and systems for ethylene plants, which have been widely promoted and applied in the domestic ethylene industry with remarkable results. He has made breakthroughs in the key technologies of the full-process optimization operation of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plants, achieving substantial energy and consumption savings in industrial facilities. His invented online blending optimization control technology for oil pipelines has achieved long-term efficient operation of real-time blending process optimization systems. His research results have been successfully applied to dozens of large petrochemical plants, yielding significant economic and social benefits. He has received more than 20 provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological awards, including 5 Second Prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and 13 First Prizes of Provincial and Ministerial-level Science and Technology Progress Awards. He holds 45 authorized national invention patents, 106 registered national computer software copyrights, and has received 3 China Patent Excellent Awards, 2 First Prizes of the Shanghai Invention and Creation Awards. He has published 3 monographs and has over 300 papers included in SCI/EI journals. His research results have been selected as one of the top ten outstanding cases of industry-university-research cooperation in Chinese universities.

He has been honored with several prestigious titles, including National Talent Program Candidate of the New Century, Chief Scientist of the National “973 Program” Project, Chief Scientist of the National Key R&D Program, National Distinguished Young Scientist Fund, He Liang He Li Foundation Science and Technology Innovation Award, National Invention and Innovation Award, Shanghai Science and Technology Elite, and Shanghai Model Worker .
