Resume

Mu, Bo-Zhong, a doctor of engineering, professor, doctoral supervisor of ECUST, and academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering, mainly engages in research on reservoir microbiology and interfacial chemistry. With the background of microbial activity in extreme environment porous media, he studies microbial biogeochemical processes and interfacial reaction mechanisms, including the structure and properties of biosurfactants and bio-based surfactants, anaerobic biodegradation pathways and biomarkers of petroleum hydrocarbons, microbial community structure and function in reservoir environments, and CO2 biotransformation pathways and regulation mechanisms in reservoir microbes. His current research focus on application in biosurfactants, bio-based surfactants, and microbial oil recovery technology. In recent years, he has been responsible for undertaking multiple key scientific research tasks, including the National Key Research and Development Program, the National 863 Program, key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, key projects of the Shanghai Basic Research Program, and international cooperation research. He has published over 200 papers in international academic journals (SCI) and applied for over 50 invention patents (of which 32 have been granted), and the patented technologies that have been transferred and industrialized have generated good economic and social benefits. As the first completor, he won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, the second prize of the Shandong Province College Excellent Scientific Research Achievement - Natural Science Category, and the first prize of the China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Achievement Award.
